I didn’t realize that I never posted about our trip to the Mojave National Preserve in 2016! This was our first Thanksgiving away from home which was especially hard for me because it’s one of the few holidays that my family actually celebrates. I ended up working the holiday, but we decided to celebrate a little later with our own little spin… (PS it’s the first video I’ve ever put together!)

It doesn’t need to be Thanksgiving Day to be thankful. And it definitely doesn’t need to be Thanksgiving Day to feast. This weekend I’m celebrating Thanksgiving with my little family in our own special way. For the first time in our lives we weren’t home to celebrate with our families. Seeing that it’s the one holiday my parents actually celebrate and knowing that I’d be spending it at work instead, it was really hard for me to accept. I felt really down initially but felt so much better ever since Corey proposed this idea. It’s been nothing but change and new adventures for us in 2016, so why not embrace a new tradition that’s unique to us? Even if I end up working and we can’t have our typical holiday at home, our Thanksgiving will eventually come Coriffany style. So this weekend is full of gratitude for always having @prakattak and @doukenthedestroyer by my side, being able to have all the crazy adventures we’ve had, and the lifetime of craziness ahead of us… plus feasting on delicious food in our random roadside campsite in 30degree weather somewhere in the Mojave, under millions of fiercely twinkling stars, while I’m covered in sand after being blown down the side of a 750ft sand dune while trying to get to the top.
